Dr. Pate began his ministry as Hilldale's fifth pastor on Easter, April 12, 1998. Educated at Samford University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Dr. Pate effectively serves as spiritual leader and vision caster for the congregation. He is married to Patricia and they are the proud parents of Chris and Caitlin.

In my earlier years I had a few people that mentored me and really impacted my life. It impacted my life so much that I have dedicated my life to pass on the same vision: “To influence people to grow and develop to their potential and live an extraordinary life. As Paul said in Phil 3:14, “I press towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Come on, let’s work to be “All that We Can Be.”

Rev. George Weeks
Minister of Worship

A native of Gardendale, Alabama, George Weeks came to Hilldale as Worship Leader in July of 2006. For the past 15 years George has served as a Music Minister and Music Evangelist in the Birmingham area and throughout much of the southeast. George is married to Cindy and they have two girls, Ashlee and Mandee.

Marie Harbison
Minister to Children

Marie served the Lord as a lay leader in the Children's Ministries of Hilldale for many years before joining the staff as  Minister to Children in 1998.  Marie brings to the staff a deep devotion to ministry and an expertise for Children's Ministries. She is usually in the office Tuesday thru Thursday.   In addition to her service to Hilldale, she is the 2007 President of the Alabama Preschool and Children's Ministers Organization, serves on the Equipping Ministry Team for Alabama Baptist Sunday School Board,  the Board of Directors of the Children's Policy Cooperative of Jefferson County, and as an advisor on the Alabama PTA Board of Directors.
